Emergency lighting, Installation, inspection & testing

Emergency lighting is an essential part of the health and safety provision of any building. Emergency lighting provides immediate secondary lighting when the power supply to the normal lighting fails and ensures that occupants can leave the building safely.

In the case of fire or other emergencies, people can die if the regular lights go down and there’s no emergency backup. Bulmer Electrical Ltd fit emergency lighting that allows people to find their way out of buildings in these situations, vastly reducing the risk to human life.

We supply both internal and external lighting systems – we’ll be able to advise you on the best system for you. We carry out full installation and can provide ongoing maintenance and testing, to comply with regulations.

Fixed Wiring Inspection & Testing, As a duty holder (thats you), it is imperative that you recognise the important aspects of your role

Most electrical installations suffer damage and deterioration throughout their operational life which makes Fixed Wire Testing essential in confirming the safe operation of the installation. We are experts in this type of electrical testing and can help you ensure that your organisation complies with all the relevant electrical regulations.

We provide highly experienced engineers who all have City & Guilds  and IEE Wiring Regulations qualifications.

In the electrical testing industry, STROMA accredit the engineers every year in order to verify that they have the skills and ability to do the job.

Quality reports are critical to the electrical safety process. Our reports are thoroughly checked by STROMA to ensure they are accurate first time round.

Portable Appliance Testing

The best way of ensuring that your appliances are safe is to have a PAT test carried out on them. This is a good way for landlords to ensure that they are meeting their legal obligations to maintain high standards of electrical safety in their rented property.

To establish the safety and suitability of your electrical appliances, the we will carry out a visual inspection of the appliance, its plug and lead. We will also inject test signals into the cable and appliance to ensure their integrity.

Upon completion of the portable appliance inspection and testing you will receive a report that details the following:

  • An inventory containing each appliance type, name, location and description
  • A full set of test results for each appliance tested
  • A full list of any failed items with an explanation of their failure
  • A visible pass or fail label on each appliance detailing the inspection date, next test due and the inspector’s signature.

If you are not technically aware, then we will be happy to talk through your report with you and advise you of any further action required.
